The Manhattan Storage Bed arrived in a timely fashion. It took about 8 hours for a professional builder to assemble but once done it looks very nice. The hardware is above average quality, the drawers slide nicely. The wood is not of the best quality so set up should be done in the bedroom. I do not recommend moving the bed frame with bed on top.
It would be great if the bed manufacturer made more room for your toes at the bottom. However, For the beauty and function of the frame I would recommend this storage bed.
I ordered this full size bed and storage headboard for my teen daughter. It took my sister and I about 4 and 1/2 hours to assemble them, following the directions exactly. The bed and storage headboard are sturdy, very heavy when constructed. The only concern I have is how much weight the drawers will hold, as the bottoms are not of a sturdy material. All things considered, the bed looks nice and neat, and is great for a teenager.
I bought this bed nearly 2 years ago, and so far it has come with me through 2 moves. What I didnt realize when I bought it was that it weighs over 300lbs fully assembled (particle board is much denser than real wood), so it requires (almost) complete dis- and reassembly each time it is moved. But my main peeve with the bed is that most of the drawers do not fit into the sliders!! Out of 6, I only have 2 that will completely go in, 2 that partially go in (enough to store stuff without my cat completely pulling everything out), and 2 that just dont fit at all and are just propped up against the wall for now. If you are looking for something nice, I suggest buying a bed elsewhere... but for a college student on a tight budget, it works.
The bed arrived on time in 2 packages as stated. Upon opening as instructed all the parts were accounted for. The putting together was rather easy with the well detailed instructions. Only needed some help from my mate with the heavy pieces. Bed went together in one day the drawers the next. The only reason it is not 5 stars is the center drawers do not fit well. Must have something to do with the frame not the drawers. It is not noticeable nor does it hinder the use. Im very pleased with the purchase.
Nice unit, good shipping for the most part, however some of the wood slats arrived cracked lengthwise, so looks like from mfg.
Also, the slats go from head-to-toe in the bed frame to support mattress. Problem is, the slats slide out of their slots they sit in and the mattress drops. the foot board and head board tend to warp and when they do, it pulls out of the slats...
I plan on fixing it myself, but they need to change it at the mfg level.
I thought the drawers were a little smaller and that the frame wasnt so tall. Without a boxspring, perfect height - it comes up to my hip and Im 56. With a box spring youll need a step stool or a running leap to get into it - it came up to the top of my waist. With a mattress/boxspring its about 4 1/2 off the ground. The storage space is great. For my husband and I, we dont need a dresser anymore which is a life saver since our new apartment has a really tiny bedroom. The drawers (for reference width size) can fit 2 folded T shirts next to each other with a lot of extra room around them (There isnt enough room to fit 3) or 2 pairs of pants folded in half once next to each other length wise. The drawers are deep and can hold a good amount of clothing but if its heavy the bottom part might fall a bit. The drawers arent made from the strongest material but for the price and storage Im not disappointed at all. I really love this piece of furniture, but if you plan on using a box spring get the 6 drawer size. Its also pretty easy to put together. My husband and I did it in about half a day.
*Weve had this frame for a year now and it still is awesome, I still love it and nothing has broken
**Edit: December 2014 - after 5 years it became a bit woobly. The bottoms of the drawers are made of a cheap cardboard that do not hold the weight of heavy clothing (winter clothing, multiple pairs of jeans, military BUDs). It feels like it was made from a cheaper wood. Weve since bought a new frame from for less money made from better, stronger material. If you cant fit a dresser in your room or just like extra drawer space this bed lasted pretty well for the past 5 years. I really cant complain about it, I would recommend this bed as long as you arent planning on using it forever or only as a guest room bed.
This bed took me 8 hours to set up but in the end, it was worth it and my wife loved it too. I followed the instruction and built myself a beautiful bed with 6 drawers. There was no problem at all, very sturdy and beautiful. Remember, you must follow the instruction very carefully and look at the picture to confirm what youre doing is right because every piece has a place. Those who said the holes are misaligned, they actually misread the instruction and did it wrong.
The color of this bed frame is darker than the picture showed online but it looks nice. The carboard of the drawers are fragile. One of the drawers fell apart when I assembled it and I could hardly use it.
I put this bed together myself. It took a while but It turned out great. I followed the modifications to reinforce the crossbeams/frame. Be careful when assembling the drawers because the wood is thin and can easily crack. Using a drill can save time but I would NOT recommend it because of the soft material. I purchased this along with the Tall Double/Queen Storage Headboard, Espresso to match. I like this combination more than the one it suggested and it looked better with a box spring + mattress. Between my husband and I who are both over 6 feet and combined weigh over 450 lbs this bed has held up perfectly. Those who have had trouble with crooked drawers. Try straitening out the frame by picking up one end and setting it down gently. Do NOT try to scoot or slide the frame, it will become distorted and cause the drawers not to fit correctly. once in place, screw in corner brackets to keep it secure.
Advice: use the recommended bed modifications, take your time with the drawers, and make sure the frame is straight.
UPDATE: I have now had the bed two years and it has held up great. No structural issues and no creaking.

Good for price!

Not Worth the Effort!

Did it by myself (almost)

Works ok

Its very tall if you use a box spring

Becareful! The drawers are fragile!
