Affordable, easy to assemble, but not too sturdy

We bought this bed because it looked simple, and it is. It felt fairly sturdy as we built it, which took about two hours. One of the drawers doesnt close properly -- it pokes out a little so the front is not flush with the rest of the frame -- but for the price we are willing to accept that. The other day we tried to shift it a little bit to adjust the rug underneath it, but we lifted from the wrong place and two screws tore through the particle board in which they were anchored. I dont think it will affect the stability of the bed, but it definitely made us sad. This bed will probably have to stay where it is; moving it is not really an option.

    great platform bed!

This is a really great platform bed. It took a bit to put together but it had to most precise instructions we may have ever read so it made it easy. The only reason we gave it a 4 instead 5 is because it is really hard to move. So when you put it together just make sure its where you want to have it. Youll know if the bed isnt sitting straight/even because some of the drawers wont be aligned if the bed isnt. We got a headboard a little after we got the bed put together and we think it looks way better with a headboard! Enjoy, its worth it!

Bed is nice. Condition it shipped in, not stellar

This bed is just what I was looking for. The color, the size, the style all right. When put together it doesnt look cheap. I didnt need the headboard since its up against a window, and pillows suffice. Pros: Size, storage space, look Cons: HARD to put together (I still have blisters! the screws would NOT go in without a screwdriver or pain) Pertaining to the seller: Pros: Arrived a day early, good price Cons: Bed footboard has a large dent in it on the top. Some drawers have scratches in the black finish. Would be nice to pay for a new bed and receive a bed in new condition.

    Good looking bed...

This is the first twin sized bed that i have slept on since childhood, and was surprised at how comfortable this little guy is! I am not the traditional twin bed user seeing that I am 65 and 250lbs... big guy in a little bed... but it is sturdy and good looking and my room is very small... I only gave the bed 4 out of 5 stars for the simple fact that the materials seem to be a bit cheap. (The price is right for what you get) The instructions are pretty easy to follow, and says it will take 2-3 hours to assemble. Seeing that there were two of us putting it together and both of us are familiar with assembly and tools I expected that time to be less. It took about 2 hours and 20 min for it to come together to my liking. Thus, I would conclude it would take the lay-person much longer to put it together properly. EASY TO ASSEMBLE, BUT TAKES TIME Thanks for the bed....

    Good Storage, Reasonable Price

You have to understand its assembly required furniture when you purchase it, but its reasonable quality and a good value for the price - and excellent storage. The drawers fit together nicely and open easily - took about 90-110 minutes to assemble (use a power screwdriver, please). It holds a heavy mattress with no problem at all and the king size fit perfectly. It was worth the money compared to finding additional storage when youre looking for space in a smaller apartment/home. Just remember - its not fancy and its not solid wood but its practical, it works, and its reasonable quality for the price! It was shipped on time, arrived all in one piece, good directions and it WORKS!

    Good Stuff

It is a good deal for the price. Was easy to assemble and the six drawers come in very handy. Overall a five star item.

I LOVE THE PLATFORM BED. ONLY REGRET THAT I DID NOT BUY IT A LOT SOONER.

Nice looking bed, but horrible performance

In order to start with something positive, I have to admit that this bed looks nice and stylish, and it also has plenty of space in the drawers. End of positive. Now the reasons why I hate this bed. 1. Bad customer service. We have ordered it on July 12th, it arrived on the 24th, however, half the way assembling it, we have discovered that it was missing a small part. Contacting customer service was not easy (they did not pick up the phone and did not return voice mails either, so I just kept trying for 3 days and finally got in), and eventually I have gotten the part shipped on the 28th of July. It arrived only on the August 5th (no surprise - it was shipped from Canada to Florida using UPS ground!). On August 6th we have FINALLY finished an assembly (which by itself was not that hard, providing you have all the required details) and slept on it. 2. Too loud, unbelievably loud. Here goes: if you use the bed only and solely for sleep, it is ok. However, if you want to have a little fun, be prepared that the whole neighborhood will know about it because of the superloud squeaky sounds this bed makes. I am NOT a heavy person and my husband is not either. There is no way to avoid this nightmare. I would have returned this bed if I could, but it is super heavy and bulky, and I have no idea how I would disassembly it and ship back to . 3. Sharp corners. My knees are all bruiced from hitting them. This is just a BTW kind of addition, this point have played no role in my low evaluation of this bed. Summary: unless you intend to use this bed SOLELY for sleep, PLEASE do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY this bed. I sincerely wish I have gone for a simple and cheap metal frame instead. I give it 2 stars ONLY because I like how it looks. I would rate its performance zero stars if I could. And also keep in mind that it may be missing something and half-assembled bed will be obstructing your livingroom or bedroom for a week, two weeks or longer until you get the missing part from .

    Missing Hardware = Nightmare!!!

I order the King-Size Platform Bed. The bed arrived well packaged and well protected. All the wood was aptly surrounded by thick plastic wrapped styrofoam to protect the edges and corners from damage. The bed itself is pretty nice to look at. The wood for the drawers is very light weight, and very delicate so for me it was a little disappointing. I had hoped the wood would be a little more durable than this, but thats ok. Theyll probably end up holding socks or something, lol. The worst nightmare was that this bed arrived missing an absurd amount of screws and hardware. I was barely able to put the bed itself together; however, at this time I could not put together ANY of the drawers, nor could I mount the hardware that holds the drawers in place. So basically I have a hallow bed with NO drawers in it. The particular screws and hardware that I needed could not be found at any hardware store here in town. I called the manufacturer in hopes I could get replacement screws and hardware. As of this writing I have not heard back from the manufacturer. The 1-800 number given on the instruction booklet for parts is always an answering machine so I leave a message. Ill re-comment this review if/when I hear back from the manufacturer. Perhaps this was a fluke. Missing hardware aside, the bed was relatively simple to put together. I did it by myself with very little difficulty. The bed is nice looking and I propped a three-layer memory foam mattress on top of it. Its very comfortable so far. If not for the hardware mishap I would have rated this bed a 5-Star item. So beware that this bed comes in 3 boxes and count ALL your parts, screws, and hardware BEFORE you begin putting it together

Cheaply made product ( Espresso Twin Mates bed)

You get what you pay for. This is not a quality product. I purchased this bed because my youngest has outgrown the bassinet, therefore, I had to buy a crib. Once the crib was purchased it did not leave any room for the full size bed that my other child was using. So out went the full bed and in came the Espresso Twin Mates Storage bed. The material seems to be made out of hard, compressed cardboard. Assembly was a pain in the recommend that you have one other person help you. Assembly time took me approximately 3 hours. Assembly of the drawers were pretty simple; however, when locking in the drawer fronts the side pieces cracked even though I did not overtighten them; this happened on two out of the three drawers. Im hoping the bed lasts a while. My oldest only comes over on the weekends so the bed will be used two days out of the week. At that rate I dont think it will be subjected to too much wear and tear. Would I recommend this product to a friend? No.
