THIS SET IS EXTREMELY HEAVY! Its good to take them out of the box one by one, clean them, and set them aside start (assembling with the drawers). The instructions can be hard to understand at first but most of the piece will have some sort of marking on them.
This bed fame is awesome! the storage the drawers provide is unbeatable, but the bed is put together by two hands and Allen wrench it took me many hours to get it all together!
I bought this bed for my daughter specifically for the drawers under the bed for storage. She has a bedroom set previously purchased in Babies R Us with a Crib that converts to a full size bed, but with a growing wardrobe I wanted something that has drawers under the bed and not rolling plastic bins.
My husband assembled the bed under two hours but thats with 2 kids helping, me distracting him a bit, and eating a little in between. No pieces broke while the bed was assembled. If you force things together as I see in the other reviews (the slats that support the mattress) they could snap I suppose. If a grown man over 200 lbs supports themselves on one of the slats while assembling the others of course they will snap. If that weight is distributed over the mattress, the slats should be fine.
The headboard is semi-soft. It is very white in color. And it is not all that shiny, but not completely matte either. My daughters furniture is actually sort of a pearl white/ off white but since the material is upholstered and not wood it doesnt look too bad. I didnt want to spend a fortune on a bed that a 6 year old will beat up anyway and I did not want to purchase another bedroom set to have all the pieces match at this time.
The storage drawers under the bed are on wheels and are plastic. They do roll out from under the bed, just like the photo with the two fluffy pillows attached. I could see them cracking if someone handled them with too much force.

-definitely a two man job and you need time . It took me 4 hours
-I think the support beam works best if you have carpet or a thicker rug underneath.
-The doors are huge and I have plenty of space.
- I was concern with the horror stories I read about this , but this product worked great for me just as is.
- the headboard is a little short

Classy faux leather bed
Great product. Looks classy without spending a lot of money. Assembly is easy, but wish the side pieces were one piece, not two.
