It was pretty easy to put together. But the slats they give you are not made to hold up any age group except maybe a baby. The bed says max 200lbs. Luckily the bed this one replaced had some OSB boards I used over the slats. So far we are in about 3 weeks and no issues. The bottom bed has very small wheels so if you have carpet in your room, this makes it a little harder to pull out the bed.
