Beautiful bed. My delivery box came a little bit beat up too but the contents were undamaged so I understand the comments that others probably experienced damage during delivery. Assembly was a little tricky for one person but I managed. Not the best directions but if you have a little experience with putting things together then it can be done. The bed seems to be pretty sturdy, it has wooden slats that are screwed into the side rails which are upholstered. I used a boxspring to add height but a box spring isnt necessary. Ive received lots of compliments on how grand it looks and Im very pleased with the bed so far.
