I'm around 200lbs. Plastic computer chairs hold my weight, but creak loudly. As such, I sought a stronger one. . . And I definitely found it. It's strong, quiet, and comfy. My plastic chairs have snapped at the arm-rests and connection to the back pad, both of which are thick pieces of metal on this chair. I anticipate using this chair for several years to come and will probably replace my other office chair, too.
