The bed assembly was not too hard. Did it myself and only needed help when lifting the upper bed in position. The wood quality is pristine. Packaging was enough to protect the wood. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get a double bed. The kids are happy. The odor is taking awhile to go away but it is common for furniture to give that smell. High quality product.
