This is how every assembly required product should be designed!
Anytime I order an assembly required product, I cringe at the thought of how hard/confusing/frustrating the assembly will be. This product is the exact opposite! My 20 22 year old kids and I assembled TWO of these beds, and we did each one in about an hour. Its almost more of a pain to get all the pieces out of the packing than it is to actually put it together! The excessive packaging ensured that no wood parts had any dents or cracks from handling. The company even sealed all Styrofoam protective pads in plastic, so you dont get those annoying little white Styrofoam beads all over the carpet when you open the package! The instructions are clearly labeled and graphic/friendly (not graphic/confusing!) and all of the hardware (bolts, washers, screws, etc) were clearly labeled in the directions, lined up perfectly to fasten, and felt like quality parts. You know those little hex wrenches that companies give you to help screw in all the bolts? This company not only includes one of those, but includes a nifty ratcheting hex/wrench gadget that is a significant upgrade and was extremely helpful during assembly....we needed none of our own tools. My daughter preferred the standard hex wrench, while my son loved the ratcheting wrench/gadget. Everything you need is in the box, including a generous amount of spare parts, that are labeled as spare parts. In the end, BOTH beds assembled the exact same way, and were not difficult to put together. Its almost impossible to assemble it wrong, with ONE exception. Theres a metal bar that runs from the headboard to the footboard in the middle of the bed that has a black strip of foam pre/attached on one side. This side needs to face upward during install, or you may hear the wooden support slats that run perpendicular to the metal bar hitting the metal as you get in and out of the bed. We needed to uninstall this part and reverse it to fix the issue....no problem...it took about 3 minutes to correct. Then we knew to look out for it when we assembled the second bed. They should show this step a little clearer in the directions, but thats the only flaw in the instructions, and wouldnt be fatal to your assembly if you did it wrong. I dont usually write reviews (I read a lot, though!), but this company designed a very easy to assemble product and I felt they should get the kudos. You wont be sorry with the quality of this assembly design, if this is your final bed selection!
