Purchasing a bed that was green had became a problem because all shades of green were selling out fast, because this was my second choice I was skeptical of how dark it was. Certainly not now! I love my bed. It's very sturdy, and far worth more than what I'd purchased it for.
I'd put it together myself, if you like feeling good about the outcome of dyi projects you'll be glad you did. The secret of making it easy to put together is to put a lifts or cans something at least 3 to 5 inches from the floor (I used risers) under the footboards to make tightening the screws easier and to keep the rails intact. Please make sure you hear the click when snapping in the slats
