Assembly was easy. Having two people help is best, but one person would be able to assemble. We tried to use play sand to fill the base but it was extremely difficult. The sand did not flow easily into the funnel which we wanted use to fill the base (flexible plastic funnel included). If sand has a little moisture from being stored outside (like most big box stores, they use outside to store the sand) then it will be hard to pour. We ended up filling our base with water and so far, so good. When its windy, it does have a lot of(give) movement, the umbrella is built to be able to withstand windy conditions (but not extreme wind). We purchased the terra color and its true to the pictures, close to the color of bricks. We love the look and the coverage of the umbrella and highly recommend this product. Its sturdy, safe and attractive.
