The instructions are not too clear. I am generally very handy so I was able to figure it out. You may need a second set of hands to help you hold the shelves as you build. The console itself is on the cheaper side of things, thus although it does the job, and its aesthetically appealing, it is not necessarily the most sturdy of furniture pieces.
