The floral fabric on this chair is unbelievably cat friendly. I hesitated getting anything new because she has destroyed a lot . So far, so good. She claws the fabric but you cannot even tell because it is a thicker weave, I guess. All I know is that she has tried to destroy it over and over and has failed. Also this chair sits a little lower than what I thought it would. I am 54 and its ok for me but it probably would not work if you were over, say 63 I was so excited to use it
