The legs and arms had to be attached, and thats it for assembly. Very easy. Ideal for getting a couch into an rv. About as comfortable as a futon can be, so adjust expectations accordingly. Small tear in the but its ok, not in a visible place.
Overall Im delighted because my main concern other than just getting it into the rv was smell. I have severe mcs and this had no chemical smell.
